Process Excellence Awards Winners announced at PEX Week USA
Add bookmark28 January 2014, Orlando – PEX Network celebrates the winners of the Excellence in Process Excellence Awards. Amongst the winners are SingTel, Cap Gemini, Pitney Bowes and United States Postal Service.
The Process Excellence Awards series, a global awards programme run by the Process Excellence Network, recognize companies and individuals that have achieved exceptional results through the use of process improvement methodologies.
Final judging took place during the network’s annual PEX Week event in Orlando Florida, an industry event for process professionals. Finalists were required to attend an interview about their application and the winners were selected by the judges, whom are experienced process practitioners themselves.
PEX Network is proud to announce the Winners:
BEST "NEXT GENERATION" PROCESS EXCELLENCE PROJECT
This award is designed to recognize projects having an impact in new, cutting edge areas for process excellence. In addition to being judged for business impact and execution, the judges also looked for value created outside of pure financial results.
Winner: Cap Gemini
Honorary Mention: SingTel
BEST BPM PROJECT
This award is designed to recognize the success ofindividual BPM projects in creating and supporting an end-to-end enterprise architecture. Applicants were assessed on their ability to demonstrate successful BPM results across people, process and IT.
Winner: SingTel
Honorary Mention: The Ottawa Hospital
BEST PROCESS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (OVER 90 DAYS)
This award recognizes improvements in manufacturing or service and transactional environments using Lean, Six Sigma or any other recognised Process Excellence tool. Entrants were judged on the ability to prove their operational and business results as well as clarity in execution throughout the process and sustainability.
Winner: SingTel
Honorary Mention: Bristol Myers Squibb
BEST PROCESS IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (UNDER 90 DAYS)
This award recognizes the business impact and scope of projects with short cycle times and quick wins for the business. Improvement projects must have been under 90 days in duration.
Winner: Pitney Bowes
Honorary Mention: Catalent Pharma Solutions
BEST START UP BUSINESS PROCESS EXCELLENCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (UNDER 2 YEARS)
This award celebrates the achievements of new Business Process Excellence programs of up to 2 years in deployment – covering Lean, Six Sigma & Business Process Management (BPM). Entrants were judged on their abilities in direction setting, delivering business benefits and initial culture change.
Winner: United States Postal Service
Honorary Mention: Norquest College
BEST BUSINESS PROCESS EXCELLENCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (OVER 2 YEARS)
This award recognises the vision, business impact and sustainability of mature Business Process Excellence Programs – covering Lean, Six Sigma & Business Process Management (BPM). Entrants were judged on their strategy, capacity for delivery and the extent to which they have created an environment for change.
Winner: SingTel
Honorary Mention: The Nature Conservancy
DEPLOYMENT LEADER OF THE YEAR
This award is intended to recognize the strategic input of Lean Six Sigma deployment professionals leading the company-wide improvement strategy. Finalists were expected to demonstrate vision, strategic leadership and influence at a company-wide level.
Winner: Bob Hemrick, DTE Energy
Honorary Mention: Dr. Jerry Green, Phytel
COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR
Winner: Dr. Jerry Green, Phytel

Entries for the 2015 Excellence in Process Excellence Awards will open in Autumn 2014.
