Dr. Aarti Sharma serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at AbbVie. In her current role, she leads strategic planning and execution of transformational initiatives that are deemed as strategic priority by the executive leadership team. Aarti has led strategic planning and execution of several organizational transformations emanating from mergers and acquisitions, biopharma-academic-biotech alliances, global business model innovations, and multilateral and bilateral government relations on public health, biomedical policy and technology management. Her work has spanned several organizations across different industries (including US Departments of Health & Human Services, AbbVie, Takeda, Raytheon, Tata Group, etc.), different countries (including USA, India, Europe, Japan etc.), and functional domains (including R&D, Commercial, Operations, Regulations & Compliance, Sustainable Environmental Social Governance Responsibilities). In addition, she has served as a faculty of corporate strategy and sustainability in the University of South Florida School of Business. Aarti has earned her Ph.D. in Management from New Zealand and her MBA and MS degrees from India. She is Six Sigma Blackbelt, Change Management, Alliance Management, PMP, Earned Value Management and Agile Management certified. She has published and has been presenting her work in several prestigious cross-industry forums, journals and magazines.
