Mark Llorente

Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) & Head of MSO Operations CareMax

Mr. Llorente is Chief Administrative Officer and Head of MSO Operations for CareMax, Inc. In this role, Mark is directly responsible for ~50 medical centers across the Sate of Florida. In addition, Mark is responsible for leading several shared services departments, including Onboarding, Call Center, Referral Management, Transportation, Sales, Marketing/Communications and Community Partnerships. Mark also serves as the Head of Operations for CareMax’s Management Services Organization (MSO), a network of ~1,800 affiliated providers currently managing ~200K Medicare value-based care members across the country. Previously, Mark served as Chief Executive Officer and Partner of Alea Health, LLC, a privately held health services and technology company based in Dallas, Texas where he led day-to-day operations, strategy, growth and product development for Alea’s suite of population health, chronic disease. management and direct primary care (DPC) solutions. In addition to developing an innovative tech-based billable services model for national health system, Mark led the expansion of employer based DPC model nationally, establishing strategic partnerships with national benefits brokers, customizing and white labeling a product offering to be sold exclusively through their distribution network. Until April of 2020, Mark served as Chief-of-Staff and Chief Growth Officer at Steward Health Care Network (SHCN), Steward Health Care’s national ACO/MSO and Health Plan division, consisting of ~1M covered lives and ~5,500 affiliated and employed providers across 9 states. As Chief Growth Officer, Mark was responsible for developing SHCN’s strategic growth roadmap, maximizing profitability and driving organizational performance. Previously, Mark served in multiple corporate roles at Steward Health Care, first as Vice President of Business Operations and later as Vice President of Strategy. He led multiple initiatives including pre/post IASIS merger integration planning, the acquisition of 22 free standing emergency departments and an affiliated hospital, the development of a margin prototype used to zero in on key market opportunities across core hospital service lines, and the development of integrated strategic plans across several Steward markets. Prior to joining Steward in 2017, Mark served as the Director of Major Partnerships at Boston Children’s Hospital, the nation’s leading pediatric academic medical center. In this role, he was responsible for providing executive leadership with analytical, business planning, financial and operational support for the growth and development of key strategic initiatives, major investments and potential mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Boston Children’s Hospital, Mark served as Director of Strategy at Miami Children’s Health System. In addition, he previously served in multiple roles at FedEx’s Latin America and Caribbean corporate headquarters, where he led several international projects. Mark earned his Master of Business Administration at the University of Miami, with a concentration in international business and received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
