Associate Vice President, Business Transformation Office Eli Lilly

Patrick Lenihan was appointed as the leader of Eli Lilly’s Business Transformation Office in June of 2019. In this role, he and his team lead Executive Committee sponsored engagements throughout the company to better meet patient’s needs, customer’s expectations, and the realities of the marketplace. His talented and diverse team of directors and he collaborate with senior management to identify, prioritize, and lead transformational initiatives that align with our corporate objectives and deliver the greatest value across each dimension of Lilly's value chain / flywheel. These efforts result in, but are not limited to, improved structures, digital strategies, processes, operating models, savings and behaviors that generate value, efficiencies and improved customer experiences. Since joining Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) in 2004, Lenihan has held numerous leadership roles in Strategy, Operations and Finance. Lenihan has a track record of successfully leading large, complex organizations and functions through change. Recently, Lenihan was the Chief Operating Officer at Elanco Animal Health where he led a world-wide Operational Excellence effort that generated significant value for what was then a unit of Lilly. As part of Lilly’s IPO of Elanco, he then successfully oversaw the multi-year transitional services agreement between Lilly and Elanco. Prior to these roles, Lenihan had oversight of the financial and strategic operations for Lilly's emerging markets, including responsibility for the division’s annual and strategic planning exercises. He has also served as the Sr. Finance Director of Lilly’s Insulin API manufacturing plants in Indianapolis. Lenihan earned his undergraduate degree in Management from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, magna cum laude, in 2000. He earned his M.B.A. in Finance, Marketing, and Biotechnology from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2008. He is a National Honors graduate of General Electric’s Financial Management Program (FMP) and a certified Six-Sigma Black Belt. Personally, Lenihan has a passion for helping at-risk youth achieve their potential. He has served as the Chairman of the Board at both the Starfish Initiative and at Outreach Inc., enjoys coaching and mentoring youth, and has recently become a Safe Family Home in Indianapolis, Indiana where he and his family reside.
