2 May 2013, London – A hospital, an investment bank, and a global energy company were among the award winners at PEX Network’s European Process Excellence awards 2013, announced during the Awards Ceremony on 30th April 2013.
The awards celebrate process excellence programmes and initiatives that have delivered outstanding results in categories that include Best BPM Project, Best Start up Business Excellence Programmes, and Best Process Improvement Projects.
Six awards were handed out at the special recognition ceremony on Tuesday evening at PEX Network’s annual flagship European gathering of process improvement professionals.
"We’re seeing an increasing awareness of the value of process excellence as businesses contend with today’s new economic reality," said Vanessa Lovatt, GM of the Process Excellence Network. "This year we’ve seen a growing diversity in terms of the industries that are applying process excellence as well as new approaches. The Process Excellence European Awards are PEX Network’s annual awards for and judged by the process excellence community. Having run for over 8 years they are renowned for recognising project and programme process excellence success stories.
The judges include Process Excellence experts from Bank of New York Mellon, DB, RSA, BP, Ministry of Justice, Honeywell, ABB, Alstom, BP Group, Lloyd's Register and BNP Paribas Cardiff .
The winners of this year’s European Process Excellence awards are:
Best Business Process Improvement Programme Over 2 Years
This award recognises the vision, business impact and sustainability of mature Business Process Excellence Programmes – covering Lean, Six Sigma & Business Process Management (BPM). Entrants were judged on their strategy, capacity for delivery and the extent to which they have created an environment for change.
Winner: AES Corporation
Honorary Mention: Catalent Pharma Solutions
Best Start-Up Business Process Improvement Programme Under 2 Years
This award celebrates the achievements of new Business Process Excellence programmes of up to 2 years in deployment – covering Lean, Six Sigma & Business Process Management (BPM). Entrants were judged on their abilities in direction setting, delivering business benefits and initial culture change.
Winner: The Ottawa Hospital
Best Project Contributing to Organisational Value, Sustainability and Innovation
This award is designed to recognise important projects that are not primarily aligned to or selected for their direct financial impact. This award is judged on business impact and innovation, but with a specific focus on business impact and value created outside of pure financial results such as customer experience, innovation, sustainability and green projects, and ethics and the community.
Winner: DeutschePost DHL
Best Process Improvement Project Over 90 days
This award recognises improvements in manufacturing or service and transactional environments using Lean, Six Sigma or any other recognised Process Excellence tool. Entrants were judged on the ability to prove their operational and business results as well as clarity in execution throughout the process and sustainability.
Winner: Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank
Honourable Mention: Catalent Pharma Solutions
Best Process Improvement Project Under 90 Days
This award recognizes the business impact and scope of projects with short cycle times and quick wins for the business. Improvement projects must have been under 90 days in duration.
Winner: AES Turkey
Honorary Mention: AES Corporation
Best BPM Project
Winner: LV= Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society
