The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is ushering in transformative shifts in business process management (BPM). The integration of AI and machine learning into BPM solutions is a key trend shaping the landscape, enhancing the automation capabilities of BPM systems and allowing for more intelligent decision-making and process optimization.
More than half of businesses (58 percent) have discussed potential AI projects to drive operational excellence and transformation objectives, according to the PEX Report 2024/25. PEX Network’s flagship research report also discovered that AI will be the biggest investment area over the next 12 months, with almost half of businesses looking to invest in AI solutions in the coming year.
Meanwhile, half of surveyed organizations are applying BPM (27 percent) and/or planning to increase BPM investment (22 percent) soon, establishing a “perfect storm” of possibility and challenge as the worlds of AI and BPM converge.
