Creating lasting cultural change through genuine inclusion at Bell Flight
Bell Flight’s Jenessa Disler shared how the company was improving inclusion on long-term projects for modernization
Bell Flight has taken a people-focused, data-driven approach to creating a culture of inclusion and development. In a fireside chat at PEX Live: Change Management and Culture Change for Business Transformation 2022, Jenessa Disler, Manager of Culture and People Development, Bell Flight, talked about how time-consuming assessments have been replaced by targeted hypotheses based on existing data and testing out what really works in practical situations.
Disler said a project to recruit a large number of engineers was a good example of how Bell Flight is creating a culture where all stakeholders are involved for the best results. To improve the whole recruitment process, people from marketing, the external branding agency, legal, HR, and engineering were all involved. This “cross-functional powerhouse” helped with collaboration and the sharing of ideas, especially in regard to more diversity in hiring.
Using this approach across a range of business functions aims to end silos, promote harmony across the organization, and contribute to a strong internal training and development culture with long-term benefits.
