Forbes Tech Council examines impact of low-code/no-code platforms

A new Forbes Tech Council article explored the impact of low-code/no-code platforms on modern digital transformation. “Low-code/no-code platforms simplify development with visual interfaces and pre-built templates, allowing individuals without extensive programming knowledge to build functional software,” wrote Hrishikesh Joshi. These platforms make technology more accessible by democratizing application development empower more people to create apps and automate tasks, offering both opportunities and challenges as businesses undergo digital transformation, he stated.

Low-code/no-code platforms do more than cut development time and costs; they help unlock the creative potential of employees. By allowing individuals from various departments to design the tools they need, these platforms can help boost creativity and productivity. Meanwhile, the convergence of low-code/no-code and generative AI heralds a new era of workforce development.

“As low-code/no-code adoption grows worldwide, it is poised to reshape workforce dynamics, especially in regions with emerging digital economies,” according to Joshi. “The rise of low-code/no-code platforms, combined with the capabilities of generative AI, is transforming the way software is created, enabling more people to contribute to the development process. This shift not only sparks innovation but also requires organizations to implement strong governance frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure quality.”
