SAP Signavio launches its November 2024 release

SAP has launched its latest SAP Signavio November 2024 release, introducing new features designed to enhance business process intelligence and drive operational efficiency. This release introduces several advanced AI capabilities, including an AI-assisted process analyzer that enables users to ask questions in natural language and receive real-time insights to make quick, informed decisions. In collaboration with SAP’s AI co-pilot Joule, users can now access an AI-powered assistant to perform tasks, find information and even automate actions like creating or deleting process models.

Also, the new dashboards and trendlines in Process Insights allow businesses to easily track and review performance, highlight trends and identify areas needing improvement. With customized dashboards and enhanced external benchmarks, users can now set precise targets and prioritize initiatives based on comprehensive insights. The addition of connections to platforms like Coupa, Microsoft and Salesforce supports expanded data extraction and improved analysis within SAP Signavio Process Intelligence.

The release also includes new value accelerators for supply chain and logistics management, designed to reduce operational costs and improve on-time delivery by analyzing transportation and warehouse metrics. The new accelerator for SAP Integrated Business Planning, for instance, aligns demand and supply to help users respond quickly to changing market dynamics, while additional features for SAP Transformation Management and Logistics Execution offer deeper insights into planning and fulfillment.

Prosper Africa’s Tech for Trade alliance pilots AI-driven pharmaceutical tracing in South Africa

Prosper Africa’s Tech for Trade Alliance (AT4T), in partnership with USAID’s e-Trade Alliance, IBM Consulting and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), has launched a pilot for “Pulse by NABP™” in South Africa. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and efficiency within Africa's drug markets through digital and AI-enabled solutions.

Pulse by NABP™ used AI-powered data analytics from IBM’s Watson platform to create an automated system that links U.S. pharmaceutical manufacturers such as Pfizer and Roche with African distributors and pharmacies. By introducing real-time data capabilities, the platform enables a clearer, end-to-end view of supply chain flows, allowing African pharmacies and distributors to make more informed, data-driven decisions. “This pilot reflects our commitment to using AI and digital tools to optimize pharmaceutical supply chains, driving value for both U.S. companies and African health systems,” said Riaz Osman, IBM Consulting’s Managing Partner for Southern Africa.

With the African pharmaceutical market valued at $26.85 billion in 2023 and expected to expand steadily, there’s significant potential for increased process excellence in an industry facing challenges such as fragmented supply lines and regulatory differences. Through enhanced visibility, the Pulse platform aims to lower waste and improve product accessibility for patients.

NABP’s Executive Director, Lemrey “Al” Carter, noted the platform’s potential to build a safer, data-driven pharmaceutical market in Africa. The pilot is a model for how public-private collaboration and digital transformation can drive operational excellence in complex, emerging markets.
