Michelin

Back in 2016 the global tire and mobility company initiated its Engage digital transformation initiative based on three priorities: creating a more personalized relationship with customers, developing new business models to help align to customers’ demands and changing the company’s ways of working.

The organization is leveraging augmented reality, human-machine collaboration, or cobotics, artificial intelligence and connected objects to help operators control their machines from their wrist.

The initiative has helped the company instill a digital culture and upskill employees. It encompasses a training platform and the award of a digital certificate to 150 employees in 2018.

HP

HP’s digital transformation is focused on three core areas: interactions between customers and the company, gaining real-time insights on elements such as supply chain and customer buying history, and digitizing processes across operations, from presales to maintenance.

The electronics manufacturer is putting a lot of focus on digital literacy internally and fostering digital ways of working by optimizing and automating processes. The aim for the company is to strengthen its foundation with a standardized, reusable “digital building blocks” across the company.

Government of Canada's Transport Canada

The Canadian Government is driving digital adoption for Canadian companies. In its 2021 Budget, it announced its Canada Digital Adoption Program to help organizations stay competitive and grow by adopting digital tools.

Worth CAN$4bn (US$2.9bn), the initiative will see the Government of Canada planning to provide funding, support and training to 16,000 small and medium businesses.

Within its own operations, the government’s transport branch, Transport Canada, is undergoing a cloud migration which has several broad goals: to help balance the demand and supply of IT services, to manage the risks of cloud adoption and to prepare the IT workforce for the cloud.

To engage employees in the initiative, the organization ensures its staff is trained on cloud capabilities to build internal expertise and change the organizational culture.
