ARIS launches Task Mining by ProcessMaker to remove process blind spots

Process mining and process intelligence vendor ARIS has partnered with business process automation provider ProcessMaker to launch a new task mining product. ARIS Task Mining by ProcessMaker is a new product for the ARIS Suite that brings together system- and manual-processes. It is designed to help organizations to remove process blind spots as they attempt to optimize ways of working and increase the automation of key processes.

“We’re seeing customers with 20 percent or more of their processes happening manually and/or outside of trackable systems,” said Marc Vietor, chief product officer at ARIS. “This inevitably means that both time and costs are wasted. The lack of standardization also increases the risk of errors that disrupt key functions further down the line. Task Mining helps understand what’s happening within these manual processes. The real story of what’s happening is the only sound basis for making impactful decisions that improve efficiency.”

ARIS’ new partnership with ProcessMaker highlights an ongoing commitment to innovation and customer success, and by directly selling ProcessMaker as part of the ARIS portfolio of products, the firm will deliver even greater value to organizations worldwide to drive meaningful change and operational excellence (OPEX), according to a press release.

“Collaborating with ARIS enables us to bring the power of Task Mining and process automation to a much broader global audience,” added Alex George, CEO of ProcessMaker. “Together, we’re equipping organizations with the tools they need to design, simulate, run and optimize their operations and achieve lasting success.”

Wil van der Aalst explains object-centric process mining

The globally renowned “godfather of process mining” Wil van der Aalst explored the emerging concept of object-centric process mining (OCPM) at All Access: Process Intelligence and Process Mining last week. He explained that OCPM – an innovative branch of process mining – enables the detailed and accurate analysis of interrelated objects and events involved in business processes.

Drawing on real examples, van der Aalst demonstrated how OCPM can be leveraged to transform supply chains, streamline manufacturing systems and elevate service delivery. OCPM is also a key enabler of artificial intelligence (AI), providing structure to the highly complex process of successfully adopting AI technology, van der Aalst added.

Celonis hosts Change Makers Program

Celonis hosted its latest Change Makers Program in Munich, Germany. The program is designed for intrapreneurs looking to learn methodologies and best practices for driving adoption and value by using Celonis Process Intelligence across their organizations. Each participant developed an individual transformation masterplan detailing how to scale value in the coming year, the processes that will drive value, strategies for building a strong center of excellence (CoE), engaging sponsors and leveraging technology.

“We were also pleased to welcome our first Change Maker from the public sector, who developed a plan to reduce turnaround times for citizen inquiries,” wrote Lars Reinkemeyer, chief evangelist at Celonis. “This best practice has the potential for widespread adoption across public sector institutions.”

Meanwhile, Celonis has sued SAP, accusing the software giant of “exploiting” the process mining market, violating US antitrust law and carrying out “egregious conduct.”
