Alibaba Cloud to measure and analyze electricity consumption at Olympic Games Paris 2024

Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, announced that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will deploy its data-driven sustainability solution to help measure and analyze electricity consumption at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Energy Expert will be applied to all 35 competition venues during Paris 2024, consolidating energy-related data during the Olympics and Paralympics into one dashboard to enable more accurate analysis and better-informed power consumption planning for future Olympic Games, according to a press release.

“Sustainability is one of the three pillars of Olympic Agenda 2020+5 alongside credibility and youth. With Energy Expert, we can now forecast our energy related impacts well into the future and accurately measure our progress,” said llario Corna, chief information and technology officer at the (IOC). “Electricity consumption is a large contributor to the Olympic Games’ carbon emissions. The data-driven insight produced by Energy Expert will help us learn from each Games edition and apply that knowledge intelligently to make future events even more energy efficient.”

Celonis and Emporix optimize processes at scale with AI-driven process orchestration

Process mining and process intelligence leader Celonis announced a new AI-driven process orchestration solution to help companies achieve end-to-end process optimization. Developed in partnership with composable business commerce company Emporix, the Emporix Orchestration Engine leverages process intelligence to orchestrate processes in real-time. It is designed to help businesses establish agile, data-driven operations and increase overall efficiency by using AI to continually optimize processes, according to a press release. Key capabilities include process transformation at scale, intelligent execution and reduced complexity, it added.

“Existing tools and automation strategies alone cannot deliver the promise of end-to-end process optimization,” commented Carsten Thoma, president of Celonis. “By themselves, these only transform individual, linear and siloed tasks. Businesses need an intelligent, connective management layer to ensure all their resources, systems and people are working in sync and achieve true end-to-end process optimization and business transformation.”
